Have they no shame?

This deserves the Ig-Nobel prize. Will these 3247 misguided folks, mostly academics (of course!), also sign the “support Osama Bin Laden” statement? How about Aldrich Ames? Maybe Charles Manson? The Benedict Arnold Memorial Support Group?

Update: Ayers has popped up on our radar before. (See here and here too.)

Update 2: Fordham Board Member Diane Ravitch takes Deborah Meier to task for signing the Ayers petition. Deborah responds.

As a vet from ‘68 I say (regarding this post): “Well said!” Thank you.

As a non-vet from ‘68 I say not said nearly often enough and loudly enough.

A big part of the reason the anti-war left fell flat on its face is more then a bit of guilt from folks my age who bought into the anti-war movement back then.

As none of the above but as a parent, I shudder at the thought of role models and “advisers” from Ayers and supporters. Character education curriculum is taught in our district. What would you offer to elementary students about this? Wait until you are grown up and you will understand? That doesn’t fly when they know about about Benedict Arnold. Ig-Nobel indeed.
